windy city aficionado.
just trying to figure it all out.
things that i have consumed today include and are limited to…
some people might not consider these decisions to be smart or healthy. i consider them to be the result of a successful trip to edward’s apple orchard.
and i’m perfectly ok with it.
it should come as no surprise that fall is, hands down, my absolute favorite time of year.
sweaters. scarves. pumpkin spice lattes (pumpkin anything, really), boots.
last fall, for the first time in my life, i invested in a nice pair of boots. i figured i was a big girl with a big girl job, and i wanted some seriously kick-ass knee-high boots to carry me through my favorite season.
my hunt for the perfect boot turned out even better than i had expected, when i snatched up the last pair of bilcos (vince camuto) at nordstrom…a couple of months before they blew up and everyone and their mom was wearing them.
i wore these boots every day last fall. and winter. and most of spring. i wish i could say that was an exaggeration, but it’s not. at all.
yesterday i stopped at nordstrom to take a quick peak at the anniversary sale merchandise and fell in love with another pair of vince camutos (brookle).
they certainly don’t have as much attitude as the bilco’s do, but they are gorgeous. and it will be nice to have something a bit darker to rotate into my fall wardrobe.
now, if fall would just hurry up and get here already. i’m itching to put away my flip flops and bust these bad boys out.
* oh…and if any of you are swooning over the bilco’s as much as i (still) am, they seem to have been discontinued…however, this season’s bollo boot is almost identical, with slightly different studding up the back.
october has turned out to be quite the month for this little blogger, and we’re not even half way through!
this has always been my favorite month of the year. summer begins to fade away. the air is crisp. the leaves are ablaze. the nights are longer. but this october i have had so much more to look forward to than the usual trappings of fall…
there was NYC. a road trip down south this weekend. an anniversary to be celebrated on the 22nd, quickly followed by nick’s birthday on the 26th. an evening at the symphony falling somewhere in between. halloween. and the last night in our current place before our big move!
so much to look forward to. so much to be thankful for.
and just when i thought it was not possible to pack any more fun and excitement into these 31 days…i went and got myself a brand new job.
october. you sure are living up to your nickname.
